Chris McPhail was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Valley High School in 2001. He attended the University of Iowa and graduated with honors from the Henry B. Tippie College of Business in 2005 with an undergraduate degree in Finance.

Following graduation, Chris accepted a position with Cardinal Health, a Fortune 500 Company. While working in their Financial Development Program, Chris learned the cost accounting and financial analysis practices of this healthcare industry leader. Chris further developed his business acumen when promoted to the position of Senior Analyst for Cardinal’s Clinical and Medical Products divisions.

To capitalize on his passion and educational background in investment management, Chris joined D.M. Kelly & Company in the fall of 2007. He is currently working along side his father, Dan C. McPhail who has been in the investment business for almost 30 years.

Chris and Dan both are Registered Financial Consultants and Investment Advisors at D.M. Kelly & Company. "Dan and I provide a level of customer service that is truly unique to this industry," says Chris. "With his long standing balanced approach to investing and my attention to detail, we position ourselves to exceed our clients’ most demanding expectations."

Chris and his wife Melita have one daughter. They are active members of St Francis’ parish in West Des Moines and involved with the University of Iowa Alumni Association.  Together they enjoy playing golf, reading and traveling in their spare time.
