Doug Peckumn • Vice President

 

Doug was born in South Central Iowa in the small town of Corydon. The oldest of two children, Doug's family moved to West Des Moines when he was four years old. As a standout athlete at Valley High School, Doug earned a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Iowa where he pitched for the Hawkeyes.

Doug graduated with a BBA in Finance and began his career as a Finance Manager at Bob Brown Chevrolet. Wanting to further utilize his financial advice and customer service talents, Doug earned his Series 7 license and became a broker in 1982.

Doug joined the Des Moines branch of Dain Bosworth (now RBC Dain Rauscher) where he worked for 18 years and earned the title of Associate Vice President. In April of 2000, Doug joined D.M. Kelly & Company as Vice President where he specializes in fixed-income investments and stocks.

"I enjoy obtaining financial products that meet the specific needs of my clients," says Doug. "At larger firms, brokers have little influence regarding the investment offerings they sell. At D.M. Kelly & Company, I have the freedom to select the products that are right for my customers."

Doug and his wife Deb have four children. He enjoys coaching and has been active with his children's basketball, baseball and softball teams. Doug can often be found running the scoreboard for high school sports events at his alma mater.
