Born in Miles City, Montana, Gary graduated from Custer County High School in 1984 and then earned a degree in Business Administration from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Shortly after college, Gary earned his CPA certificate (currently expired).

Gary has more than 20 years of financial industry experience, starting as a Credit Analyst for a large regional bank in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1988. Pursuing his interest in the investment profession, Gary joined D.A. Davidson & Co.’s money management division in 1990 where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for investment research, security selection and client service. While at D.A. Davidson, Gary obtained his Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses and became a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.

Gary joined Stockman Bank of Montana in 1998 as a Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. While at Stockman, he started Stockman Asset Management, a registered investment advisory firm. As CEO of Stockman Asset Management, Gary charted the course for the company during which assets under management surpassed the $1 billion mark.

Gary now joins DMKC Advisory Services as President. DMKC is the registered investment advisory division of DM Kelly & Company, an independently owned brokerage firm headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. D.M. Kelly & Company was founded in 1995 and has almost $1 billion* under management.

Gary and his wife Sue have been married for twenty years and have three daughters. In his spare time, Gary enjoys coaching, spending time with his family and is an avid runner having successfully completed several marathons and half marathons.
